The Afghan Creative Youth Group is a unique program designed for newcomer Afghan high school students who have recently arrived in the United States. This program helps participants navigate their new environment by fostering self-discovery, leadership, and a sense of community.
Through engaging activities in self-care, empowerment, and artistic expression, youth also gain skills in art workshop facilitation and community awareness. This group is not just about art—it’s about equipping young Afghans with the tools they need to thrive in their new lives.
“I felt really welcome, because the people here were so kind.” – Youth Participant
“This was the only thing we did this summer. I’ve been wanting to do yoga and this helped me to get back into it. Thank you so much for teaching us!” – Youth Participant
