Internship Position Title: Social Media and Communications Intern
Hours: 10h/Week
Location: Oakland and the East Bay

Compensation: College credit will be provided. Stipend Available based on hours and experience. 

About ARTogether:

ARTogether is an Oakland-based non-profit organization dedicated to fostering compassionate communities where refugees and immigrants can thrive. Through our diverse range of art programs, we aim to build bridges within our community, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment that allows refugees and immigrants to connect with their community in new and creative ways. Our initiatives include creative art workshops, social events, promotion of refugee artists, and media projects that raise awareness about refugee issues.

Position Summary:

The Social Media and Communications Intern will support ARTogether’s mission by managing and enhancing our online presence. This role includes creating and scheduling posts, engaging with our online community, and documenting events through photos and videos. The intern will work closely with the Communications and Marketing Manager to develop compelling content that promotes our programs and events.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage ARTogether’s Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn posting calendar.
  2. Attract and interact with targeted virtual communities and network users.
  3. Attend ARTogether events to digitally document and create videos and photos for future posts.
  4. Shadow the Communications Manager in content creation, designing graphics for events or announcements, and creating reels for artist or event promotions.

Qualifications

  1. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in media, film, photography, or communication.
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
  4. Experience with photography and video editing software is a plus.
  5. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  6. Passion for ARTogether’s mission and commitment to fostering compassionate communities.
